The Fantastic Fundraisers of 2023<\/h2>\n

2023 has seen a whole variety of fundraising events in support of NSIF. Our amazing supporters have pulled out all the stops to help us continue to reach for our goal of finding a biological cure for paralysis.<\/h3>\n

Claire Lomas<\/strong> has once again completed a number of exhilarating fundraising events for NSIF. This year Claire was invited to complete a charity lap at the North West 200 \u2013 the largest outdoor sporting event in Northern Ireland. Claire completed the 8.9 mile lap whilst raising a brilliant \u00a39,700! In September Claire hosted her 9th<\/sup> Road to Recovery charity Rideout around the Leicestershire countryside which raised a fantastic \u00a31115.<\/p>\n

As well as her motorbike events Claire also completed the Great North 10k run alongside a team from Clifford Chance Law \u2013 together raising over \u00a33000.<\/p>\n

A special mention must also be given to Claire\u2019s daughters Maisie who has been donating to nsif \u00a31 per order from the jewellery business that she set up during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong>\"\"<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Angela and John Pye<\/strong> \u2013 founders of the Hull & East Riding<\/strong> branch of NSIF have continued their fundraising efforts. This year the team once again completed their Bridge to Bridge Cycle Challenge, a gruelling 250 mile cycle challenge from the Menai Bridge in Anglesey to the Humber Bridge, raising a staggering \u00a36482!<\/p>\n

As well as this, the branch was chosen to be the charity of the year for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy<\/strong> \u2013 the employees have and continue to be pulling out all the stops when it comes to fundraising, with funds raised in a whole variety of ways.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Funding was kick started by the very brave Andy<\/strong> who undertook a daily ice water plunge for 30 days. Georgia, Joel, Chris<\/strong> & Sam<\/strong> completed the arduous Hull Half Marathon, whilst their colleague, Shaun <\/strong>completed the Humber Bridge Half Marathon. James<\/strong> completed his first 10K at Leeds Running Festival whilst Mark<\/strong> joined the Bridge to Bridge cycle challenge. Staff took part in several group activities \u2013 such as a golf day and the gruelling Total Warrior obstacle course. As well as this, staff at SGRE have also held raffles, competitions, bake sales and more!<\/p>\n

Thank you to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, John and Angela for all their hard work fundraising for us in 2023. We can\u2019t wait to hear about the final events and the funds raised.<\/p>\n

Matt Walker<\/strong> ran the Brighton marathon in April \u2013 marking the second marathon he has completed in aid of NSIF. He raised over \u00a3600. Thank you Matt!<\/p>\n
