Our thoughts continue to be with his family at this difficult time and he will be missed by the whole team here at nsif.<\/p>\n<p>Gary had a distinguished career as a chef, restaurateur and author with a passion for cooking and dedication to his craft. He was one of Britain\u2019s most popular chefs with a history of stunning restaurants, including Rhodes Twenty Four in London and Rhodes W1 in Dubai, earning him a constellation of Michelin stars.<\/p>\n<p>Gary had an equally successful TV career which began in 1994 with the highly popular BBC series, Rhodes Across Britain. Several equally popular shows followed, taking him all over the world to share his modern twist on traditional recipes.<\/p>\n<p>With his wealth of culinary knowledge and passion, Gary also published over 20 books. He was recognised for his services to the hospitality industry in 2006 when he was awarded an OBE.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a varied and busy career, Gary supported friend and founder of the charity, David Nicholls, becoming a founding trustee of nsif in 2004. He remained a trustee for 15 years and continued to generously support the charity in numerous ways, donating both his time and prizes for charity auctions. No doubt he would have continued this support for many more years.<\/p>\n<p>We feel incredibly lucky to have had Gary in the nsif team since its inception and are grateful for all his support and guidance over the years.
